MSOE's Location

MSOE is located in the city of Milwaukee, in the state of Wisconsin, in the north central part of the United States. Milwaukee is the 22nd largest city in the U.S., with a metropolitan population of approximately 1.4 million residents.

The campus is located in downtown Milwaukee, adjacent to historic East Town and the Theatre District, Milwaukee's Cultural Center. Students can easily walk to banks, post offices, Grand Avenue Mall, restaurants, and many cultural and recreational activities. MSOE is just a few blocks from the shores of Lake Michigan. Milwaukee is known for its clean and friendly community, and its rich ethnic heritage. The city's population is made up of immigrants from around the world and celebrates its heritage throughout the year with ethnic festivals, such as Summerfest, and excellent international restaurants.

The city offers many outstanding recreational and cultural activities to its residents and visitors. Some of the attractions include the Milwaukee Public Museum, the Art Museum with its famed Calatrava-designed addition, and the Milwaukee County Zoo. The performing arts in Milwaukee are highlighted with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Milwaukee Ballet Company, a multimillion dollar Theater District, and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.

Professional sports offered are Milwaukee Brewers baseball, Milwaukee Bucks basketball, Milwaukee Wave soccer and Milwaukee Admirals hockey.

The Bradley Center, located four blocks from campus, hosts sporting events, rock, country, and other concerts, ice shows, and other national entertainment attractions.

Milwaukee is located approximately 90 miles (145 kilometers) north of Chicago, on the shores of Lake Michigan. Public beaches, lush parks, sailing and fishing opportunities offer outdoor recreation for all.

MSOE also offers courses leading to bachelor's and master's degree programs in the Fox Valley region of Wisconsin and selected courses at other sites in the State.

How Do I Get to MSOE?

Travel alert: Please be aware that a major highway reconstruction project in the downtown area is currently underway and will continue through 2008. This project can cause ramp and lane closures and re-routed traffic. Please allow extra time for travel and/or check the Marquette Interchange Web site for the latest information.
