Public Safety Staff
To fulfill its public safety mission, the Department employs 19 full-time
officers that perform a variety of different functions and responsibilities
within the department. Patrol officers provide highly visible patrols of the
campus, utilizing vehicle, bicycle and foot patrol, to prevent and suppress
criminal activity. Additionally, patrol officers respond to all calls for
service on the campus, both emergency and non-emergency in nature.
The Public Safety Department Dispatch Center personnel are responsible for; monitoring access into the Loock Residence Hall, answering emergency and non-emergency calls for service, monitoring the campus video surveillance system and all radio communication to and from patrol officers.
Residence hall officers are responsible for 24-hour security of the three residence halls on campus. Officers check the identification of anyone attempting to enter the residence hall, sign-in and monitor visitors, and provide other services to the student residents.
