VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE AND TREASURER

The Vice President of Finance will serve as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will have overall responsibility for the budget and financial affairs of the university.  Founded in 1903, MSOE is a private university located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee.  We have been recognized for our “applications-orientated” approach to offering bachelor's and master’s degree programs in engineering, business and nursing.  Our student population of approximately 2,500 students attend small classes in which no graduate assistants are employed and state-of-the-art laboratories are utilized.  Our graduates are in high demand as evidenced by our job placement rate of approximately 95% over the past five years.  Please visit our website at www.msoe.edu to learn more about our university.    

THE POSITION: Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Finance and Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the university and is responsible for the oversight and management of university finances.  As one of five Vice Presidents, this person will be involved in strategic policy development and implementation that is critical for the effective operation of the university.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.  This position requires extensive communication with the Board of Regents and with professionals from the banking and investment fields and therefore excellent presentation skills required. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance required; a Master’s degree desired.  CPA certification required.     
• Minimum of ten years of experience in which progressively responsible senior-level administration and experience gained is required. 
• Must possess strong management information systems acumen.
• Extensive experience in budget formulation and monitoring, negotiating financial contracts, accounting and management required.
• Oversight of accounting, auditing and risk management functions.
• Non-profit GAAP accounting experience in a university setting preferred. 
• Auditing experience helpful.
