The Mechanical Engineering Department at Milwaukee School of Engineering invites applications for the positions of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning in September 2013.
Full-time faculty positions are open in the following areas of mechanical engineering:
· Applied Mechanics and Design – Will require teaching duties to include undergraduate courses in mechanics of materials, finite element analysis, solid modeling, and machine design as well as elective courses within the person’s area of specialization.
· Controls and Fluid Power – Will require teaching duties to include undergraduate courses in the areas of controls, fluid power or mechatronics as well as elective courses within the person’s area of specialization.
These positions require an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field), relevant industrial experience, and a strong interest in effective undergraduate teaching integrating theory, applications and laboratory practice. In addition to teaching duties, the successful candidates will be expected to become involved with academic advising, course/curriculum development, supervision of student projects, and continued professional growth through a combination of consulting, scholarship, and research. Excellent communication skills are required. The review of applications will begin as they are received and continue until the positions are filled.
