MSOE has an immediate opening for an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Fluid Power Institute (FPI). The FPI conducts applied research in a state-of-the-art laboratory in the areas of motion control, fluid power education and technology transfer activities. It has also expanded into electrohydraulic interface studies and currently has active programs in fluid power systems design, applications of fluid power to manufacturing, component evaluation and filtration and contamination testing.
Candidates will be responsible for the design, development, documentation and troubleshooting of electrical control and data acquisition systems used in automated test and evaluation of fluid power components and systems. Strong knowledge base with Rockwell Automation VFD’s, PLC’s, Panel Views, and software preferred. Knowledge of NFPA 70E requirements, OSHA electrical safety standards and 3 phase 440v electrical power also preferred.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology, master’s degree preferred.
