MSOE is looking for a full-time Laboratory Manager to work in our world class Fluid Power InstituteTM, one of the leading academic fluid power research laboratories in the nation. This position involves laboratory development, maintenance and repair of equipment, preparation and scheduling of projects, assisting in laboratory sessions at fluid power seminars, and troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical control systems. This person is also responsible for all aspects of safety in the laboratory and the accountability of tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and must possess a bachelor’s degree in a fluid power, mechanical or electrical engineering area. Additionally the candidate should have a broad knowledge of industrial controls, instrumentation and data acquisition systems; knowledge of industrial three-phase electricity; knowledge of electrical switch-gear, electrical-electronics and PLC programming; must be proficient in preparing technical documents and familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
