Geographer by Willem Drost
Willem Drost, Geographer, 17th c.
  • October 2006-January 2007 -- A Visit to the Armor Shop by Spanish artist Eduardo Zamacois (1841-1871) was included in an international exhibition of Zamacois' works at Bilbao (Spain) Fine Arts Museum (Museo de Bellas Artes). The retrospective was the first devoted to the painter and included 50 works from European and American private collections and museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
  • October 2006-February 2007 -- Geographer by Dutch artist Willem Drost (ca. 1630-after 1680) was loaned to the Haggerty Museum of Art at Marquette University, Milwaukee, and featured in its Old Master's Gallery.

 
Donated Work

  • March 30, 2005 -- CMC Heartland Partners donated an expressionist-style painting depicting heavy rail operations at the Milwaukee Road's Bensenville, Ill., facility, to The Eckhart G. Grohmann Collection "Man at Work." Titled, "Piggybacker," the scene includes workers and enormous rail handling machinery. Signed "Miller `68," it was commissioned for the Milwaukee Road's headquarters in Milwaukee and hung for many years in the president's office.
