Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management Department

If you're interested in building construction, economics, methodology, management and construction management and design (architectural, environmental and structural), then this department may offer a degree just for you.

The Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Department is MSOE's home for degrees that specialize in building tomorrow from the dirt up. Whether you want to manage the construction of tomorrow's offices and homes or design healthy, environmentally friendly internal structures, such as heating and cooling systems, MSOE can help you achieve your goal.

Various labs and facilities are designed specifically for your specialization area, including CAD laboratories, AE-dedicated microcomputer laboratory, senior AE student design studios, energy systems laboratory, strength of materials laboratory, construction materials laboratory and structural/construction testing laboratory.

The Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Department offers the following degrees:

Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering
The four-year bachelor of science degree program will prepare you for a career in the design and construction of buildings and building systems.

Freshman-to-Master's degree in Civil Engineering

This new five-year degree is designed so that students will receive both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering after five years. MSOE is the first and only university in the state of Wisconsin to offer a five-year, freshman-to-master’s degree in civil engineering.

Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management

Specialized for the building and construction industry, this program enables you to pursue a career combining managerial skills with construction technology.

Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering

This program meets the needs of architectural, civil or structural engineers that need advanced course work to better analyze and design contemporary building structural systems.

The Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Department main office is CC-69 in the Student Life and Campus Center. The chairperson of the department is Dr. Deborah Jackman.
