Cudahy Transit Center

The client for this section is the City of Cudahy. The proposed project is the extension of the Chicago Metra line that will connect near Mitchell Field Airport. The proposed location is south of Layton Avenue on the present railroad tracks. A site map will be provided. A bus trolley will be needed to take Metra passengers back and forth from the airport to the Transit Center. The Cudahy Transit Center will have all of the functions of any typical metra transit center. In addition, the client wishes to add a retail component, day care and restaurant to the Transit Center. The client desires students to come up with their own retail solutions to be incorporated into the Cudahy Metra Transit Center part of their design. The City of Cudahy desires this proposed retail component to add an economic development activity to the Transit Center.

Budget: $4 to $6 million
