System Integration Engineer (Customer Stablization and System Enhancements)

 

Position Description:
I work with key customers to provide system (blood analyzer) enhancements and technical support to research and development.

 

Necessary education or experience:
A B.S. in biomedical engineering or other engineering degree with a life sciences background.

 

Key skills that are necessary to be successful in your position:
The ability to work in team environment, good documentation and presentation skills, and the ability to work comfortably with scientists, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and software engineering groups.

 

A description of your path to your current position:
I was an engineering technician (support engineering and internal instruments) and an associate system integration engineer (validation testing, design of experiments to vary all parameters to optimize a design).

 

Good (and bad) aspects of your current position:
I must be able to travel (both good and bad), and business prioritization changes, therefore my job function is very different from month to month. The position allows for use of all engineering disciplines, so it's never boring.

 

What do you enjoy about your current position?
Working with customers, and seeing products make a difference to patients.
