The software engineering curriculum at MSOE has been created on sound principles of software "practice" (what software engineers do) and "process" (how software engineers plan, manage, and improve their own work).

Some of the important aspects of the SE curriculum: are:

• A well balanced curriculum track.
• The Software Development Laboratory where you get a chance to be a part of a team working on large-scale, industry-sponsored projects, just like you will on the job.
• An opportunity broaden your knowledge and skill in technical areas of your own choosing (program electives).
• A Senior Design Project, often multidisciplinary in nature, which helps to bring together everything that you have learned.
