Program Overview
There is a growing demand for engineering professionals who are capable of applying combined engineering disciplines. Traditionally, graduate education in the United States has focused on creating specialists - people who can advance the frontiers of knowledge in a narrow field. However, the best solutions to technical problems increasingly fall outside the confines of any one discipline. Some of the greatest advances in engineering yet to come will be the result of cross-disciplinary application of technology.
MSOE's Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) program is an interdisciplinary engineering program with primary emphases in the areas of electrical engineering (EE) and mechanical engineering (ME). A key component of the MSE program is the breadth of engineering background that students gain in areas of systems engineering, EE and ME. Additionally, each student is offered some degree of concentration through the selection of an engineering option and electives.
