As a technical communicator (TC), you could:
- work closely with engineers and other technical staff, asking questions through the eyes of the customer, to ensure the final product will meet the customer's demands
- travel to the customer for training on product or equipment use, teaching customers how to use technology to their advantage, safely and efficiently
- translate the technical language of engineers and technical staff into language the marketing/sales staff can understand and use to market the product
- write manuals and software explaining how a product works, including programming, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
- develop professional looking graphics, audio-visual aids, and sales material for customers
- improve society by promoting the efficient and effective use of technology in our daily lives
