In this lab introduces freshman and sophomore students to the fields of microbiology and biotechnology, and where they will learn the engineering application of biochemistry. They will also learn how to work with enzymes, manipulate genomes and RNA, study the growth of bacterial cells, and cloning, infection and transfection of cells. The lab is designed for both learning theoretical concepts and hands-on activities. It is called the Wet Biotechnology Laboratory because, in the types of experiments performed here, students use a lot of liquid media and solvents to prepare and manipulate samples.
