The Field
Now
more than ever, business operates
on a global scale. U.S.
businessmen and women are working with - or in many instances for - companies
from other countries. Those who work in international business need to know
customs from other cultures, and a
second or third language is a great benefit to your career.
The bottom line is
that our future is subject to the forces of innovation,
globalization and technology. Our challenge is being prepared to succeed
under these conditions. International business at MSOE prepares you
for that challenge.
The Program
Technology and
entrepreneurialism are your
modern-day sword and shield when heading into business battle. The Bachelor
of Science in International Business program is a four-year program of study
built on MSOE's rich tradition of integrated technology and lab practice, using the tools of your trade.
When you enter the
work force, you'll be expected to have
a global perspective, work
experience abroad, some foreign
language fluency and an understanding of challenges that go beyond doing
business in only one market.
A cornerstone of
the international business program is the required one-year study abroad
during your junior year. You'll study at Lübeck University of Applied
Sciences, Lübeck, Germany, where you'll take courses with
students from Lübeck and the following year,
they'll come here. Part of the agreement is that you'll receive degrees from
both schools, and never miss a
beat, so you'll graduate on time.
You'll also have a strong
foundation in business and management,
and the availability of a large number of elective courses that allow for
professional development in one of the following concentrations:
- Marketing
- Information Technology (IT) Systems
- Operations and Logistics
