American
business is competing on an international level more than ever. And foreign
companies are buying or forming alliances with American companies at a record
pace. You will likely do business with or even work for a foreign company.
If
you travel internationally, speak
a foreign language or have an understanding of the cultures and traditions of
other nations, you will have a
marked advantage.
A
cornerstone of the international business program is the required one-year
study abroad at Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, Lübeck,
Germany, during the junior year. You'll study
side-by-side with students from Lübeck
University.
To
help you on your way, MSOE's
program makes the transition into another culture smooth. Classes are taught
in English with a year of German language and culture included in the
curriculum.
Lübeck University is very similar to
MSOE in emphasizing applications-oriented degrees. Courses in marketing, finance,
production management, telematics, logistics,
Integrated Systems (SAP) and German language and history are part of the
study program at Lübeck.
In
addition to the formal study, you
will be able to travel and experience the cultural diversity and historic
heritage of Europe. In fact, the school year runs September through June with
a five-week break between semesters,
providing an excellent opportunity for European travel. Immersion into
European culture, and the added
opportunities for travel lend themselves extremely well for the integration
of cultural diversity.
Upon
successful completion of the junior year and completion of the senior year at
MSOE, you will be awarded two
degrees: Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur (B.S. engineering and business
management) from Lübeck, and
Bachelor of Science in International Business from MSOE.
