B.S. in Management

The Field
Business and industry depend on hiring leaders who understand the practical and technological aspects of management. The success of any organization is directly related to having individuals who know how to work with and lead people, manage and facilitate change, solve problems and get the job done - better than the competition. Employers expect those working in business management to:

  • have the skills to manage successful projects
  • effectively manage and make money for themselves and their employers
  • increase their capacity to use technology in response to business challenges
  • integrate the latest business practices - and stay current with continuing education

The Program

A bachelor's degree in management from the Rader School of Business (RSOB) provides these skills and builds upon technical proficiencies by providing the knowledge needed to know where to set priorities and the practical expertise needed to carryout desired initiatives. And it comes with an added benefit: the MSOE brand.

For nearly 50 years, the RSOB has produced graduates who have a strong foundation and knowledge of business practices with the added benefit of an MSOE brand that is grounded in practical application of what you learn. In other words, you learn by doing. Theory is one thing. Being able to use that theory to create real-life projects for clients puts you head and shoulders over your competition.

You also get to concentrate on one of five areas of study:

Business Administration
- Develop a broad-based business understanding with study in accounting and finance, operations management, human resources and marketing. Graduate ready to lead a wide-array of projects and respond to business opportunities.

Financial Management - Develop skills in traditional practice and computer applications in the areas of accounting, finance, budgeting and costing. You'll be adept at leading the internal financial operations of business.

Information Systems - Develop knowledge and skills in computer systems infrastructures, development and support of software applications, and learn how to manage large and small scale information systems.

Marketing and Entrepreneurship - Develop skills in technical selling, promotional strategies, e-business marketing and business-to-business marketing. Graduate ready to lead marketing projects and operations in technical environments.

Business Process Management - Develop skills in supply chain, quantitative management, advanced operations, project management and quality and operation simulations. You'll be adept at leading and improving business processes and operations.
