Dragon Boat Holiday Festival

Here are some pictures from the Dragon Boat Holiday Festival. We were fortunate enough to be invited to participate in the festivities that were put on for select companies in the SIP (Suzhou Industrial Park). There were no more than 20 people that participated. We learned how to make the rice dumplings. The art to getting the leaves wrapped just right was not easy master. Jeremiah participated in the contest to see who could make the most dumplings and who could make the best dumpling. He definitely was a quick wrapper, but not fast enough to win. Ann, the HR manager for Williams Controls in Suzhou, wrapped 11 dumplings and should have won but another girl won because her mother was helping her. After the dumpling wrapping we moved on to making pottery. Both Jeremiah and myself made a bowl to bring back home.
The festivities were a great opportunity to meet people from all over. I even talked with a kid who was from UW Milwaukee and was working for 1 month in China for his internship. How crazy is that!!!
Work is going very well and we are both very busy with our projects. Jeremiah is working on the sensors and he went to one of the suppliers the other day to check out their facility. So we are becoming educated on what it is really like to do business in China.
