The Gene Carter Macintosh Lab has become an important feature of Rosenberg Hall and the Rader School of Business. A new business course was created in 2008 entitled Fundamentals of Multimedia Production for Business. The course expands students’ knowledge of multimedia as a business tool and strategy. It also builds their computing skills to include Apple software and hardware. Class rosters reveal students from engineering, business and technical communications programs have enrolled during the past two years.

In addition to the integration of the lab into the business curriculum, Apple technologies continue to be featured in the Technical Communication (TC) program. Courses in website design, multimedia graphics, and visual design techniques are courses that enroll TC majors and also attract business, management information systems and engineering majors.

Integration of the Gene Carter Macintosh Laboratory into more courses and programs is a strategic initiative for the Rader School of Business and other programs at MSOE. The opportunity to have the lab positioned in this high profile location is instrumental in realizing this goal. Continued efforts are fueled by great enthusiasm and creativity. They move forward deliberately as resources are available.
