No, the MSOE Nursing program does not require CNA certification.

Nursing students who have successfully completed NU 2520 are eligible to apply to take the CNA certification exam for Wi certification. Here is a link to the form- it needs to be filled out by either Dr. Jenks or Dr. Wollenhaupt.

Though you do not need to be a CAN as a nursing student, there are advantages to working as a CNA while in school. The primary benefit is that you are an internal candidate for future job opportunities. As an internal applicant, the agency will know your work habits, work ethic and fit with the organization. In a tight job market, these are significant advantages.
