Program Information

The M.S.N. - Clinical Nurse Leadership program prepares registered nurses to become health care team leaders to provide a higher quality of patient care and better prepare them to thrive in the rapidly changing health care system.

The program includes 47 quarter credits and 420 hours of clinical practice and is available on a full- or part-time basis. Through intensive clinical laboratory experiences, graduates will be able to:

  • Put evidence-based practice into action to ensure that patients benefit from the latest innovations in health care delivery.
  • Collect patient data, evaluate patient outcomes and assess cohort risk.
  • Function as part of an interdisciplinary team by communicating, planning and implementing care directly with other health care professionals.
  • The development of clinical leadership skills are through your active participation in and leadership of interdisciplinary treatment teams under the supervision of a clinical preceptor and faculty advisor. As a graduate, you will oversee patient care coordination of a distinct group of patients, act as a resource for multidisciplinary clinical decision-making, serve as a lateral integrator of care and maintain higher standards of health care at the point of service.
