The Kern Center provides open recreation, personal fitness, drop-in game play and group exercise classes for MSOE students, faculty, staff and Kern Center members. In addition, the center is the hub of the MSOE campus in hosting events ranging from recognition dinners to graduation ceremonies.
The Kern Center is available for community usage and has hosted events from fitness expos to youth sports camps, leagues and tournaments. Facilities, including the Ice Arena, are available for limited rentals. For rental information, call (414) 277-2672.

Each May, the ice arena hosts MSOE's spring commencement, complete with a circular, rotating stage, large screen video projection and seating for 3,000.
Exposition events can be held in the large spaces.
Twice each year, MSOE converts the basketball arena into an auditorium for commencements.
