Interested in studying abroad, but don’t want to be gone for a whole quarter or year? Looking to catch up on some of your humanities or engineering electives? Then check out MSOE’s newest study-abroad program in Lille, France. You’ll choose from a list of pre-approved courses and take two classes over a one-month period in June. All courses are taught in English.

- Program is open to all majors—engineering, business and nursing
- Choose from courses in the science and engineering program, or the general program
- The program runs from Session 1: May 31 to June 27, 2013 or Session 2: June 28 to July 23, 2013

What is a typical week like?
You’ll be in class from Monday to Friday. In the mornings you’ll take a core class (either project management or French language) from 9 a.m. to noon. Lunch is from noon to 1:30 p.m., and your afternoon elective course runs from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Weekends are free to experience Europe on your own, and you’ll take one program-sponsored field trip per week.

Program cost:
The program cost of $3311 US includes tuition, dorm accommodations, weekday lunch, and three group dinners. This does not include air nor rail travel nor expenses. Total cost may be approximately $5500 US. Tuition includes:
- Accommodation in student residences
- Breakfast and lunch on weekdays
- Free access to local public transportation
- Access to university facilities
- Two field trips to Bruges and Brussels
- Three group dinners
- Welcome and orientation program
- Tourist information and assistance
Tuition does not cover extra expenses such as air fare, health and travel insurance, evening and weekend meals, spending money, etc.
Saint-Gobain Scholarship
Business and engineering students may apply for a scholarship sponsored by Saint-Gobain, a building materials company and global leader in the production of high-performance materials and glass containers.
- Two scholarships are available per year
- Worth $4,000 each to cover tuition and some extra expenses
- Open to qualified, full-time business and engineering sophomores or juniors (as of Fall 2012) in good academic standing
- Must be able to commit to a paid summer internship at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics in Portage, Wis., in 2013.
- Application must be submitted by Feb. 24, 2012
Program requirements:
- Students must be in good academic standing
- Students must get their advisor’s approval, and verify and approve their course work with their advisor prior to leaving
- A completed MSOE travel abroad form
- Student applications and travel abroad forms are due to MSOE by April 1, 2013.
- Students must complete the Lille Catholic University application by March 15
- Students must have a valid passport
- Ability to pay €2,550 directly to Lille Catholic University at the time of application
