I have been married for 18 years to the same patient wife, Laura, and have two children: Phillip and Lydia.
Share a memory or two from your days at MSOE:
Learning practical design, fabrication and program-management skills working on SAE Baja and Formula project cars, learning design from Marv Heifetz, vehicle dynamics from Richard Golembiewski, thermodynamics from Dr. Kern, interpersonal relationship life skills from Dr. Kleppin, art from Ms. Dyskow, and public speaking at WMSE.
I also remember the Sunday afternoon we carved "SAE" into the MSOE rock with a Hilti hammer drill, with 'permission' of security. Dean Pat Coffey had a different view of our handiwork Monday morning.
Then there was the time we locked then-vice president Joe DeCarlo out of the WMSE studios—that is when he learned how clever engineers can be compared to college administrators. That is when the students learned who the FCC considers the true owner of the broadcasting license—the administrators. That was fun while it lasted.
MSOE has prepared me well for the wide variety of industries I have worked in.
Why you are choosing to be involved as an area chair?
Looking forward to meeting other MSOE alumni - rare critters here in Texas! Often can be spotted with Packer gear. Also willing to help MSOE where I can fit in.
