Wright is a Principal of Wright Innovation, Inc. Wright Innovation is a consulting firm with competencies in industrial marketing, innovation, and knowledge management.  Wright has developed a series of tools and methodologies in "Knowledge Management" such as the Knowledge Café.  Knowledge Management is applied to business process improvement by addressing knowledge transfer as well as the further development of knowledge repositories, workflow, expertise location, collaborative spaces, and real-time learning.  Currently, his firm's primary client is The Enhancers, Inc., an engineering and manufacturing firm that focuses on industrial controls integration and informatics.

 

Mr. Wright is an Adjunct Professor at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He teaches graduate courses in Strategy, Leadership, Marketing, New Product Management and Innovation.  He has been teaching for 20 years. He is a member of PDMA, AMA, SMEI and MANA.

 

With over 25 years of industrial and entrepreneurial experience in Marketing, Engineering, R&D, Sales and Operations.  Gene has worked for Netconcepts LLC/LTD. (Madison, WI and Auckland, NZ), BORN (Brookfield, WI), Brady Corporation (Milwaukee), Combined Technologies, Inc. (Brookfield), and RTE (Cooper Power - Waukesha, WI).   He has had equity positions in five companies.

 

Mr. Wright pioneered e-commerce at Brady Corporation, helping establish their first commerce enabled Web sites over a decade ago.  He also created Web-to-Workbench, an initiative which tied the web to the shop floor.  Further, he has led and assisted in developing hundreds of products and services as we as a number of intranet/extranet applications and repositories for Research and Development, Product Innovation, Sales and Human Resource functions.  He holds three US Patents. 

 

He is a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering and holds degrees in Electrical Power Engineering, Industrial Management, and Engineering Management.  He was listed in the National Dean's List for the MS-Engineering Management.
