Jim Friauf is an
Associate Professor at MOSE where he has taught communication courses since
1989. Jim has a B.A. and M.A. in Communication from UWM and he has taken
additional graduate courses in rhetoric and composition and adult education.
Prior to joining MSOE, Jim worked for the International Institute of Wisconsin
where he coordinated services and programs for international visitors. Jim also
worked for Northwestern Elevator as a customer service representative.
In addition to teaching, Jim has provided communication skills training for the business and non-profit community. He has worked with the J.F Ahern Company (Fond du Lac); Rockwell Collins (Cedar Rapids, Iowa); Oilgear (Milwaukee); the American Institute of Architects (Wisconsin Chapter), Milwaukee Area Directors of Hospital Volunteer Services, Children's Services Society of Wisconsin, and Gilda's Club of Southeastern Wisconsin. Jim is a member of the Creative Education Foundation and has attended their week-long Creative Problem Solving Institute for the past three years. Jim has recently been working with the accounting firm, Clifton Gunderson, providing workshops on creative problem solving.
