Mr. Paul Woelbing
CEO of Carma Laboratories, Inc. hosted more than 60 MSOE alumni at his company
in Franklin, Wis. on Nov. 6, 2008. Carma Laboratories is a family-owned company
that manufactures Carmex lip balm. Woelbing's father, Alfred Woelbing, invented
Carmex®
lip balm in 1937 on his
family's stovetop. For the next 20 years Alfred and his wife made the balm by
hand and poured it into the yellow-capped jars. Production moved to Wauwatosa
and eventually Franklin, where the alumni event was held. Today Carma
Laboratories employs about 100 people and is still owned and operated by the
family.
