Raiders place 2nd at UW-Whitewater Invitational

The MSOE men's track & field team finished second out of 15 teams at the UW-Whitewater Invitational Saturday. Junior Kevin Diederich won the 55-meter hurdles event at 7.84 seconds and was fourth in the long jump at 6.72 meters. Junior Arthur Weborg came in fourth in the triple jump at 12.26 meters and eighth in the long jump at 6.25 meters. Senior Michael Jasperson took the top spot in the weight throw at 15.55 meters while senior Brent Verhyen was fifth in that event at 13.46 meters.
Sophomore Jordan Werner placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.82 seconds. Senior Cameron Rate ran a time of 16:24.14 in the 5000-meter run to finish seventh. Freshmen Mike Cosentino and Matt Waech finished back-to-back in third and fourth in the pole vault at 4.10 meters and 3.95 meters. In the high jump, junior Joseph Klimowicz and senior Alex Raver were tied for fifth at 1.80 meters. The Raiders' distance medley team placed third at 11:08.99.
The Raiders will take part in the Tadd Metzger Invitational this Friday in Kenosha, Wis.
