Women's Tennis Place Eighth at NAC Championships
MADISON, Wis. - The MSOE women's tennis team finished in an eighth place tie at the eleven-team Northern Athletics Championship today at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin.
Junior Joy Cirilli (Peoria, Ill./Morton HS), playing in the number one singles slot for the Raiders, placed fourth overall. Cirilli and doubles partner Sophie Janto (Mequon, Wis./ Homestead) earned a seventh place finish in the number one double position.
In the number three singles competition, Elizabeth Keyes (Madison, Wis./LaFollette) finished in seventh place for the Raiders.
MSOE scored 13 points at the championships and added six points from regular season dual matches to tie Benedictine for the eighth place NAC team finish. Concordia University Wisconsin won its second consecutive conference championship, winning seven of the nine individual championships to post a team score of 97 points. Edgewood College tallied 78 team points, winning the remaining two individual championships at the two-day event. Marian College rounded out the top three teams with 59 points and a third place finish.
