MSOE, in their first year as an NAC member, is projected to finish in fourth place among the league. Aurora University, last year's conference winner and NCAA representative, was voted the lead candidate to win the conference again this year.
"When looking ahead at our season, the one thing that I noticed is that there are many teams with strong senior leadership..." said fourth year MSOE Head Coach Brian Miller.
Miller's squad is one of those teams, returning two key senior starters in Scott Murphy (Sheboygan, Wis. /Sheboygan South) and Neil Trainor (Frankfort, Ill. /Homewood Flossmoor). Murphy, a three-time All-Conference selection, averaged 17 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. Trainor averaged 7.9 ppg, and 4.75 spg, playing in 27 games last year.
The men's basketball team opens with North Park at the UW-Whitewater tournament, Friday, November 16. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
