Conference indoor track poll announced; men fourth, women sixth

VERONA, Wis. - In the Northern Athletic Conference coaches' preseason indoor track poll, the MSOE Raider's men's and women's indoor track teams have been picked to finish fourth and sixth, respectively. This is MSOE's first season competing in the NAC, while last year they competed as an independent during the indoor track season.
The Concordia University Wisconsin's men's and women's teams have been picked to win the 2008 Northern Athletics Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships according to the coaches' preseason polls.
The Falcons received six of the nine first place votes in the men's poll for a total of 78 points. Aurora University tallied 72 points and 2 first place votes and was picked second. MSOE had one first place vote and was chosen fourth overall.
In the women's poll CUW received eight of nine first place votes for 80
total points. Aurora received the remaining first place vote and totaled 68 points for a second place pick. Wisconsin Lutheran College was slotted third with 65 points.
The Falcon women won last year's championship with an astounding 213.5
points. Wisconsin Lutheran was the 2007 runner-up totaling 122.5 points.
Both MSOE indoor track programs begin their season at Carthage College on Saturday, January 19, and aim for an outstanding finish at the 2008 Northern Athletics Conference Indoor Championships on February 29
in Kenosha, Wis. at the Tarble Athletics and Recreation Center. The NCAA Division III Championships will take place March 14-15 in Ada, Ohio on the campus of Ohio Northern University.
