MSOE Men's Track Wins NAC Indoor Championship, Women's Team Finishes Third

Kenosha, Wis. - The MSOE men's track and field team won the NAC indoor track and field championship Friday at Tarble Athletic & Recreation Center. The Raiders scored 163.5 points which was 43 better than second place Aurora University. The Raiders women's track and field team finished in third place at the meet with 98 points.
Catherine Chappell was named women's Field Athlete of the Meet. Chappell won four events at the championship including the long jump, the high jump, shot put and 55 meter hurdles. She also finished second in the 55 meter dash and 200 meter dash.
MSOE track and field head coach Larry Gardner was named the men's Coach of the Meet.
Brian Seniuk won the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash. Kevin Diederich won the 55 meter hurdles race and Eric Hein was eighth. Ben Bichler finished third in the 400 meter dash and the 800 meter dash. Casey Cummings finished third in the 200 meter dash and was sixth in the 55 meter dash. Josh Uelman finished fourth in the 200 meter dash. Caleb Hahn was seventh in the 200 meter dash. Dominic Maio was fifth in the 800 meter dash and Joe Phillips finished seventh in the same race. Maio finished second in the mile run. Tim Carlson was third in the 3000 meter run and Zak Lutz was sixth. Carlson finished second in the 5000 meter run and Lutz was fifth in the same race.
Kyle Rate finished first in the triple jump. Diederich was second in the long jump and Aaron Choate finished fifth. Matt Ollayos finished second in the shot put and fourth in the weight throw. John Flotterud was third in the weight throw. Alex Raver tied for fourth in the high jump. Matt Johnson finished third in the pole vault and Eric Doubet was sixth.
The Raiders' 4X400 meter relay squad comprised of Bichler, Phillips, Rate and Seniuk finished first. MSOE's men distance medley team of Nate Harwell, Matt Jungers, Ben Pielhop and Cameron Rate finished third.
Heather DeLany was first in the 800 meter dash and finished second in the 400 meter dash. DeLany was second in the high jump. Libby Nowak was seventh in the mile run and seventh in the 3000 meter run. Emily Schmeling was second in the 5000 meter run. The Raiders' 4X400 meter relay team of DeLany, Nowak, Becky Schermerhorn and Schmeling finished fifth.
