Women's Soccer defeated by Dominican 1-0

River Forest, Ill. - In the first round of the 2008 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Women's Soccer Tournament, The Dominican Stars defeated the MSOE Raiders by the score of 1-0.  The only goal of the game came in the second minute of play from Dominican's Nallely Arreola off passes from Michelle Reynoso, and Mary Hoemeyer.

"We played very well today, but not well enough", said MSOE Head Coach Rolf Zersen.  "We made one mistake the whole game that cost us a goal early in the game.  We had numerous opportunities to score.  Specifically, we had a flurry of shots with ten minutes left in the game.  We hit the crossbar, the keeper in the stomach and numerous other chances.  Sometimes things just don't go your way.  Dominican is a solid team and they did what they had to do to win.  It was a very even match.  We wish Dominican the best of luck the rest of the way."

Dominican outshot MSOE 14-10 for the game. Goalie Leah Kutz had two saves in 90 minutes in the goal for the Raiders.

MSOE finishes the season with a 12-8-0 overall record, their second consecutive winning season in the program's history.
