Varebrook ALL-NAC in Men's Soccer; five others honored
Waukesha, Wis.-Senior forward John Varebrook (Elm Grove, Wis./ Marquette HS) was named a first team ALL-NAC selection, as voted on by the coaches of the Northern Athletics Conference, announced today. Varebrook, who was an honorable mention selection last year, tied for the team lead in goals and points with 6 and 13, respectively.  Starting in 17 games that he played, Varebrook had five game winning goals for the Raiders, the most on the team.

Jordan Engedal (Eau Claire, Wis./ Eau Claire North) received second team honor for his play during the 2008 campaign. He was a conference honorable mention honoree in 2007.

Joining Varebrook and Engedal receiving honors was Joe Westrich (Racine, Wis./ St. Catherines)  and Danny Kolokoski (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) as honorable mention selections; with Pat Kelly (Slinger, Wis./ Slinger) and Josh Payne (Glenn Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) garnering  All rookie selections.

Westrich, a 6'5" forward, had two goals and two assists for the season, playing and starting in 18 games for the Raiders. Also starting in 18 games for the Raiders, the 6'0 sophomore Kolokoski had four goals and two assists, playing midfielder for most of the season.

Starting in 10 of 14 games played for the Raiders, Kelly scored two goals on the year. Payne tied Varebrook with most goals and points on the team while starting in 15 of 17 games played

MSOE finished the season with an 11-5-2 overall record, 7-3-1 in the NAC, tying for third place in the conference standings.
