Raiders in NAC men's soccer title game - Broadcast/Game Information
Mequon, Wis.-- In the Northern Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament, the MSOE Raiders defeated the Edgewood Eagles 2-1 in Mequon, Wis. With less than five minutes remaining, Pat Kelly fired a low bouncing shot from the top of the box to give the Raiders the eventual game winning goal. Both teams were ranked ninth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Central Division poll announced on November 3, 2009.

The Eagles struck first with just one minute remaining in the first half. A miscommunication on defense by the Raiders opened an opportunity for Edgewood's Paul Domann to get the Eagles on the scoreboard. 25 minutes in to the second half, a well-timed cross from MSOE's Josh Payne to Joe Westrich, tied the game at 1-1. The goal set the stage for Kelly's strike late in the second stanza.

Both goal keepers played strong throughout the game Alex Mejac coming up on the winning end of the semifinal contest. Mejac had four saves and gave up one goal to collect his 13th win on the year, a school single season record.

The Raiders 13-5-2 will travel back to River Forest, Ill. On Saturday, November 7, to face the Dominican Stars in the NAC Championship game. The starting time is set for 1pm.
