No. 12 MSOE hockey finishes weekend sweep of Lawrence

With goals from four different players, the No. 12 Raiders beat Lawrence 4-2 Saturday at the Kern Center to finish up the sweep of the Vikings. Junior goaltender Connor Toomey made 28 saves in the victory.

Junior forward Todd Krupa scored his 14th goal of the season to start the scoring at 6:22 mark of the first period. His goal was set up by freshman forward West Bauman and sophomore forward Mike Pao. After Lawrence tied the game at 1, freshman forward Ben Lauder gave MSOE the lead in the second period with a power play goal. That goal was assisted by freshmen defensemen Michael Schenfeld and Michael Thompson.

About ten minutes later, sophomore forward Bradley Tierney scored to make it 3-1 Raiders from freshman forward Steven Shaffroth and Lauder. The final goal of the game for MSOE was tallied by sophomore defenseman Nathan Brunk. It was assisted by Bauman and senior defenseman Aaron Humphries.

MSOE (15-3-1, 12-1-1 MCHA) remains on top of the MCHA with the two victories. The Raiders play Concordia-Wisconsin twice next weekend with Friday night's game at 7:05 p.m. taking place at the Kern Center.
