Meier named CoSIDA Academic All District selection

MSOE Raider's Austin Meier (Oshkosh, Wis. / Oshkosh West) was named to the first team Academic All District team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors Association. Meier, a 6-4 junior forward, is an Architectural Engineering and Construction Management student-athlete, carrying a 3.95 grade point average.
Meier is a two-time All Northern Athletics Conference selection and Freshman of the Year in 2007-08. Starting and playing in 20 games this season, Meier is averaging 17.3 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game, 2.55 assists per game, and 2.4 steals per game. On Saturday, Jan. 30, Meier scored his 1,000 point in his career in the Raider's one-point loss to Edgewood College.
The Academic All-America® All-District Teams in both men's and women's basketball for University and College Divisions are conducted and voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
There is a University Division (Division I programs) and a College Division (DII, DIII, NAIA, NJCAA programs) for men's and women's basketball.
Two Academic All-District teams are chosen in each district, with those on the All-District first teams placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
