Women's Basketball clinches spot in NAC Tournament
Milwaukee -- Needing a win against Alverno College Wednesday night to get into the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament, the MSOE Women's Basketball team got a dominant performance from sophomore center Carol Cayo in a 69-57 victory at the Kern Center. The win coupled with a Benedictine University victory over Concordia University Chicago put the Raiders into the NAC Tournament.

Cayo scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for another double-double. She also had four steals for MSOE. Senior guard Dana Guthrie put in 15 points while sophomore guard Megan Syversen had 11.

The Raiders held the Inferno to 29% shooting in the first half en route to a 33-21 halftime lead. MSOE also forced 21 Alverno turnovers. The Inferno actually took the lead at 37-36 in the second half but the Raiders took control from that point but never trailed in the game again.

MSOE will host Rockford College in the NAC Challenge Saturday afternoon at the Kern Center. That game will tip of at 2 p.m. The Raiders begin the NAC Tournament on Wednesday night. The opponent and location are to be determined.
