Meier named to NABC All-District Second Team

Raiders junior forward Austin Meier has been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-District Second Team for the Midwest Region. The Oshkosh, Wisconsin native was also selected to the First Team All-Northern Athletics Conference. Meier averaged 16.4 points per contest, 8.6 rebounds a game, 2.3 steals per game, 1.3 blocks each contest and shot 58% from the field during the 2009-2010 season.
"This recognition by the Coaches Association is well deserved," said head coach Brian Miller. "Austin led our team in every statistical category, you just don't hear about guys doing that. His value is beyond the numbers. He is a winning time player and has led us to great success."
Also, Meier was named to ESPN the Magazine's Academic All-America First Team. He is a double major in Architectural Engineering and Construction Management and holds a 3.95 GPA. Two seasons ago, Meier was named Rookie of the Year in the NAC. Last year, he was picked as a member of the First Team All-NAC.
The NABC teams recognize the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division and are selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America.
