Macias Simeon finishes 9th at PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship

MSOE sophomore Elias Macias Simeon finished in ninth place at the 24th PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship this weekend in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Macias Simeon carded rounds of 74, 75 and 76 during the three-day event.

The native of Mexico City was among 34 golfers who competed in the Men's Independent division of the event. Amit Odaiyar of Central Florida won the division with a three-round score of 208.

The event's field included almost 200 athletes from minority-serving institutions and minority students from any college or university. The debut broadcast of the 2010 highlight show on Golf Channel will air on Wednesday, July 7 at 7 p.m. Additional air times are Wednesday July 28 at 9 a.m., and Saturday, July 31 at 2:30 a.m.
