Sophomore Jordan Keizer scored twice in the last five minutes of the game as the No. 11 Raiders stayed undefeated with a 2-0 victory over Saint Mary's Friday night at the Kern Center. Junior goaltender Connor Toomey made 23 saves to record his second shutout of the season and the fifth in his career.
Keizer picked up the game's first goal at the 15:31 mark of the third period. Sophomore captain Bradley Tierney logged his eighth assist of the season on that goal while sophomore Nick Gorup also had a helper on that tally. Kezier scored his second goal with 42 seconds left in the game on an empty net. That goal was set up by sophomore Carl Lindblad. Keizer now has ten goals on the year. He entered the weekend first in all of Division III in goals per game.
The Cardinals were 0-7 on the power play as MSOE (7-0) has only allowed one power play goal in 36 penalty kill situations this season. The same two teams play Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Kern Center.
