MSOE hockey up to No. 8 in USCHO.com Division III poll

MSOE hockey now stands at No. 8 in the United States Collegiate Hockey Online (USCHO.com) Division III Poll. The ranking is the highest for any team in MSOE history. The Raiders are riding an eight-game winning streak after sweeping Saint Mary's this past weekend at home. The winning streak is the program's longest since the 2005-06 season when MSOE won nine straight. The Raiders won 2-0 last Friday and 7-1 Saturday against the Cardinals. MSOE will host St. Thomas this Friday at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Kern Center.
Sophomore Jordan Keizer leads the country in goals with 13 after scoring five this past weekend against Saint Mary's. Keizer is also first in short handed goals with two and second in all of Division III with 2.12 points per game. Junior goaltender Connor Toomey is second in the nation with a 1.14 goals against average and fourth with a 94.9% save percentage.
MSOE leads the county in the nation in penalty kill situations as they have given up just one power play goal in 40 opportunities (97.5%). The Raiders are second in the country in scoring margin (3.62) and scoring defense (1.12). MSOE is one of two teams in Division III without a loss or tie so far this season with the other being No. 1 Oswego.
