No. 9 MSOE hockey falls to No. 12 Hamline

The 9th ranked Raiders started 2011 with a 4-1 loss to No. 12 Hamline in Saint Paul, Minn. Saturday evening. MSOE tied the game at 1 in the first period when sophomore defenseman Carl Lindblad scored. His goal was assisted by freshman defenseman Devin Schmitt and junior forward Todd Krupa.
Junior goaltender Connor Toomey made 26 saves and allowed two goals as the Pipers scored two of their goals in the last 1:29 of the game in an empty net situation. The Raiders outshot Hamline 34-30 on the night.
MSOE (9-2) is back in action Friday at the Kern Center against MCHA foe Lake Forest. The puck is slated to drop at 7:05 p.m.
