No. 11 MSOE hockey finishes sweep of Lake Forest

The 11th ranked Raiders got a late goal from freshman defenseman Devin Schmitt to knock off Lake Forest 3-2 Saturday night on the road in the MCHA. For Schmitt, it was his first goal as a Raider and was assisted by junior forward Todd Krupa. The goal came at the 16:14 mark of the third period.
Krupa tied the game at 2 with 5:29 left in the third period. His tenth goal of the year was assisted by freshmen forwards Mike Pao and West Bauman. The Foresters went up 2-1 after sophomore captain forward Bradley Tierney scored the first goal of the game in the first period. That goal was set up by freshman defenseman Michael Schenfeld and sophomore forward Jordan Keizer.
Senior goaltender Chris Keller made 19 saves in the victory. MSOE (11-2, 8-0 MCHA) faces Adrian next weekend in Michigan. The first game is Friday at 6 p.m.
