Toomey named MCHA Defensive Player of the Week again


Junior goaltender Connor Toomey was named MCHA Defensive Player of the Week for a league-high fourth time this season. Toomey had a save percentage of .959 during the weekend sweep of Finlandia and a goals against average of 1.00. The Lions went 0-14 in power play situations in the two games. Toomey is currently sixth in the country in goals against average with a mark of 1.84.

MSOE is ranked no. 12 this week in the USCHO.com Division III Poll which marks the ninth straight week the Raiders been ranked in the national poll. Sophomore forward Jordan Keizer leads the nation with 17 goals. MSOE is first in all of Division III on the penalty kill at 93% (80/86).

The Raiders finish their six-game stretch of road games Friday against Lawrence in Appleton, Wis. at 7 p.m. before heading home to play the Vikings the next day at 3 p.m.
