Athletic Director Harris leads MSOE Hall of Fame inductees

Long tenured Athletic Director among six Raiders honored

Milwaukee - The Milwaukee School of Engineering Athletic Hall of Fame will welcome six new members Saturday, January 29 at the Kern Center on the campus of MSOE.

Dan Harris is no stranger to Hall of Fames as this will be his seventh induction throughout his illustrious coaching and administrative career. Harris has turned MSOE from a dormant athletic program into a thriving department that now consists of 21 varsity sports. Currently, Harris is one of the three longest tenured athletic directors in Wisconsin.  Before taking his position as MSOE's athletic director, Harris served stints as Athletic Director at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Concordia University Wisconsin. Harris is widely known as not only an outstanding administrator but also as a soccer enthusiast, champion of the game and one of the most regarded soccer coaches in Wisconsin.

Joining Harris will be five MSOE student-athletes that accomplished much both on the field of play and in the classroom.

Rick Brooks, a four-year soccer player and sweeper for the Raiders (1999-2002), was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team during his senior season and was a two-time All-Lake Michigan Conference selection. Brooks graduated in 2003 with a degree in electrical engineering.

Matt Kaiser, an outstanding catcher who played from 1994-1997 for the Raiders, was a three-time All-Lake Michigan honoree and two-time NAIA All-District player. Kaiser graduated in 1997 with a degree in architectural engineering.

Jason Kleckner, a two-time All-Lake Michigan Conference defenseman, helped transform the MSOE soccer team into a winner. Kleckner was also an All-Midwest and All-State honoree during his senior season. He graduated in 2000 with dual degrees in business and computer systems.

Adam Lewis led the Raider basketball team to their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in university history. Lewis was named to the Lake Michigan Conference All-Rookie team and was a two time All-LMC member his final two seasons as a Raider. He graduated in 2004 with a degree in architectural engineering and construction management.

In 2004, Matthew Schoenherr was named an NCAA All-American in wrestling finishing eighth at the NCAA Wrestling Championships. He was also a 2004 Co-SIDA First Team All-America selection. Schoenherr graduated with an architectural degree in 2004.

Local Milwaukee sportscaster Tom Pipines is the emcee for the event with a cocktail reception beginning at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and the induction at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person, only $15 for MSOE students!
