MSOE women's basketball secures spot in NAC Tournament after edging Concordia-Chicago

Sophomore forward Heather Miller scored 21 points as the Raiders held off Concordia-Chicago 36-35 Saturday afternoon at the Kern Center to clinch a spot in the NAC Tournament. MSOE trailed as many as eight points in the second half but battled back to get the victory. Miller also led MSOE with nine rebounds.
Junior forward Jamie Janczak scored five points off the bench including a key three-pointer with 5:35 left in the game which gave the Raiders their first lead since early in the first half. Junior center Carol Cayo's lone field goal with 41.7 seconds left turned out to be the difference in the game for MSOE. Cristina Calabrese missed a shot at the buzzer which would have won the game for the Cougars. Junior guard Kathleen Collingbourne paced the Raiders with five assists while junior guard Marguerite Wellstein grabbed seven rebounds.
MSOE (8-15, 5-11 NAC) plays their final regular season game Wednesday night on the road against Rockford.
