MSOE track and field opens outdoor schedule at North Park

MSOE track and field opened their outdoor season Saturday at the North Park Small College Relays. The men's team set a new school record in the 4X100 meter relay at 42.92 seconds which was placed the squad first at the meet for that event. MSOE also placed first in the shuttle hurdle relay, 4X800 meter relay, 4X200 meter relay, 4X1600m relay and 4X400 meter relay.
Senior Mike Jasperson took the title in the hammer throw at 48.99 meters. Senior Kevin Diederich placed second in the long jump with a mark of 6.62 meters. Freshman Mike Cosentino finished second in the pole vault at 3.80 meters.
On the women's side, the Raiders were first in the 4X200 meter relay, distance medley relay and shuttle hurdle relay. Freshman Shana Cook finished first in the javelin throw with a mark of 31.34 meters. Junior Emily Dieringer was second in the pole vault at 2.85 meters. Sophomore Karly Nehls placed second with a mark of 1.47 meters and was third in the triple jump at 9.38 meters.
MSOE will take part in the UW-Oshkosh Invitational Saturday, April 2.
