MSOE women's volleyball takes out Alverno and Lake Forest


The Raiders picked up victories against Alverno and Lake Forest Friday night at the Kern Center in the second MSOE Triangular of the season. MSOE beat the Inferno in three sets (25-9, 25-11, 25-7) and knocked off the Foresters in five sets (18-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-8). 

In the NAC win over Alverno, sophomore Stephanie Hasler led the Raiders with nine kills and six service aces and also had nine digs. She hit .368 for the match. As a team, MSOE had a hitting percentage of .282. Junior Kaylie Lenz recorded seven kills and hit .462. Junior Kathleen Collingbourne led the Raiders with 11 digs and logged five service aces.

Against Lake Forest, Collingbourne had a season-high 33 digs. Hasler and senior setter Hayley McEnerney both recorded double-doubles with Hasler getting 16 kills and 14 digs and McEnerney picking up 26 assists and 14 digs. Junior Kayla Edler logged 14 kills while freshman Diane Jorgenson had 12 kills. Sophomore Brittany Leis recorded ten digs. Freshman Mila Merchan picked up a career-high 21 assists.

MSOE (11-19, 4-7 NAC) faces Edgewood Wednesday night at the Kern Center as they continue to battle for a spot in the NAC Tournament.
