School records fall at Carroll Invitational


The MSOE track and field squad took part in the Carroll University Invitational Saturday in Waukesha, Wis. Senior Kevin Diederich won the 110-meter hurdles event with a time of 14.99 to break his MSOE record. Diederich also was second in the javelin throw at 48.84 meters and second in the long jump at 6.76 meters.

Sophomore Jordan Werner finished first in the 100-meter dash at 11.14 seconds. Werner along with sophomore Chris Neja, junior Mark Van Alystyne and freshman Matt Waech set a new school record in the 4X400-meter relay with a mark of 3:18.96 to place first. The same four runners combined to win the 4X100-meter relay with a mark of 43.23 seconds in the finals. Senior Michael Jasperson bested his school record as garnered a mark of 52.11 meters in the hammer throw.


Leading the way on the women's side for the Raiders was junior Emily Dieringer who was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at 16.94 hurdles, seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 2.75 meters and ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.11 seconds. MSOE will participate in the Pioneer Invite Saturday, April 9.
